It’s good to have activities where kids experience adult-stuff, I mean like preparing sandwiches. Could be basic but these things are big for them. It goes the same when they are allowed to help with house chores, cooking and baking and even washing the dishes. I once read somewhere: “Do not handicap your children by making their lives easy.” Easy, perhaps in the sense that we parents give them eveything readily or that we don’t want them to experience what we had as kids when all our parents wanted was for us to learn.
Times are changing and it is quite different now than our generation but we should try our best to prepare our kids for what’s ahead. Yes, even when just making a sandwich.
